Terms of service

1. The service

ExtraEyes adds AI alerts to your existing CCTV cameras. We provide an ExtraEyes device, install it at your premises and connect it to your DVR/NVR. The device analyses your camera streams locally and sends alerts to the ExtraEyes app.

ExtraEyes is an aid to your security arrangements, not a replacement for guards, alarms, insurance or emergency services. AI detection can miss events and can raise false alarms, and alerts depend on your cameras, power and network working. We do not monitor your alerts for you and we do not contact the police or anyone else on your behalf.

2. Your account

You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time password. Keep your phone secure: anyone who can receive your one-time passwords can access your account. You are responsible for the people you invite to view your site's alerts, and for removing them when they should no longer have access.

3. Prices, billing and the free month

• The subscription costs ₹699 per camera per month for the first 4 cameras and ₹599 for each additional camera, inclusive of all applicable taxes. Current prices are on our website.
• The first month is free. It starts on the day your first camera starts streaming to the device.
• You can pay for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months at a time, manually or by autopay (UPI Autopay or e-mandate), at the discount shown when you pay.
• Adding cameras mid-term is charged for the rest of the current term. Removing cameras takes effect at your next renewal.
• Payment is due on your renewal date. If it is not received within 15 days, your service is suspended and we may collect the ExtraEyes device.
• New CCTV installation, if you ask for it, is quoted after a site visit (typically ₹4,000–₹5,000 for 4 cameras) and is a one-time charge. Those cameras and their recorder belong to you once paid for.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. A change applies from your next renewal after the notice period.

4. The ExtraEyes device

• The device remains the property of ExtraEyes. It is provided and installed free for as long as your subscription is active.
• Keep it powered, connected and in a safe, dry place, and do not open, modify, move or resell it. Contact us if it needs to be moved or stops working; we repair or replace devices that fail in normal use at no charge.
• If the device is lost, stolen or damaged beyond normal wear, we may charge the reasonable cost of repair or replacement.
• When your subscription ends, we will contact you to collect the device. Please give us reasonable access to do so. Footage stored on it is erased when it is returned.
• The device's software is updated by ExtraEyes. Updates are signed by us, installed outside busy hours where possible, and rolled back automatically if they fail.

5. Acceptable use

Use ExtraEyes only on premises you own or are authorised to monitor, and in line with the law, including laws on privacy and on informing people that CCTV is in use. Do not try to break into, reverse-engineer around the security of, or disrupt the device, the app or our servers, and do not upload unlawful or copyrighted footage to the website demo.

6. Open-source software

The device runs open-source software, including software we publish under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0. The source code and licences are available from us on request and are listed in the app. These terms do not limit your rights under those licences.

7. Cancellation and termination

You can cancel at any time from the customer portal. See the refund & cancellation policy. We may suspend or end the service if payment is overdue beyond the grace period, or if you seriously breach these terms, after notice where reasonably possible.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, ExtraEyes is not liable for any theft, loss, damage or injury at your premises, whether or not an alert was raised, nor for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Greater Noida have exclusive jurisdiction. Please contact us first at [email protected] — most issues can be resolved quickly.

10. Changes and contact
